The parameter | What is its purpose? |
Bilan lipidique | Assesses the balance between ‘bad’ cholesterol (LDL), ‘good’ cholesterol (HDL), and triglycerides. High LDL or triglyceride levels can lead to atherosclerosis, a major risk factor for heart attack and stroke. |
Fasting blood sugar | Measures blood sugar levels to detect insulin resistance or early diabetes, key factors in cardiovascular risk. |
Glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) | Shows average blood sugar over the past 2–3 months : high levels indicate chronic imbalance that can damage blood vessels and speed up atherosclerosis. |
Lipoprotein(a) – Lp(a) | A genetic cardiovascular risk factor : high levels can promote artery plaque buildup even if other blood lipids are normal. |
